On May 2, 2024, Christ the King Major Seminary witnessed a remarkable event as 73 seminarians celebrated their graduation. The joyous ceremony was led by His Grace Archbishop Anthony Muheria, marking a significant milestone for the Catholic Archdiocese of Nyeri.
The graduates were divided into two groups, with 39 seminarians from the school of philosophy and 34 from the school of theology. This momentous occasion was the culmination of years of rigorous academic and spiritual training, preparing these young men for their future roles in the Church.
The Catholic Archdiocese of Nyeri recently celebrated a significant milestone with the ordination of seven deacons and four priests on June 8, 2024. This joyous event took place at Christ the King Major Seminary, presided over by His Grace Most Rev. Anthony Muheria, Archbishop of Nyeri, marking his 20th Episcopal anniversary.
The ceremony saw the ordination of the following Deacons to Priests:
1. Rev. Deacon Stephen Mbugua Ngurabana from Endarasha.
2. Rev. Deacon James Mwangi from Kabiru-ini.
3. Rev. Deacon Kennedy Kamanu from Irigithathi
4. Rev. Deacon Ibrahim Wangai from Karuthi.
5. Rev. Deacon Simon Mbaga from Mukurwe-ini.
6. Rev. Deacon Moses Wachira from Ithenguri
7. Rev. Deacon Wilson Ruoro from Mugunda.
Alongside them, four Seminarians were ordained as Deacons:
1. Seminarian Denis Philip Nganatha from Tetu.
2. Seminarian Daniel Muriithi from Sirima.
3. Seminarian Simon Irungu from Kiamuiru.
4. Seminarian Paul Muturi from Othaya.
Archbishop Muheria, in his address to the newly ordained, emphasized the importance of spiritual nourishment and the centrality of the Eucharist in their ministry. “Always remember to recharge yourselves with prayers and visiting the Eucharist,” he advised. “Also, don’t forget to carry your power bank, which is your mass box.”
The event was attended by hundreds of faithful, family members, and friends who gathered to support and celebrate with the newly ordained. The atmosphere was filled with joy and reverence as the new deacons and priests received blessings and congratulations.
This ordination marks a significant moment for the Catholic Archdiocese of Nyeri, highlighting the growth and vitality of the Church in the region. The newly ordained Priests and Deacons are expected to bring fresh energy and dedication to their parishes, enriching the spiritual lives of the communities they will serve.
The aim of Archbishop Mashinani is to warm the hearts of the youths & rekindle the love & faith that God has given them.
The Archbishop challenged the youths to discover the Eucharist because Jesus is our main role model. He also reminded us to frequently take part in confession to heal our inner self.

We Celebrated Palm Sunday on the 2nd April 2023 Led by His Grace Most Rev. Anthony Muheria. The Archbishop’s Holy Cross was handed to the care of Karatina Deanery who were to usher the cross into it’s Parishes.
We celebrated the Feast of Corpus Christi (Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ) at Our Lady Consolata Cathedral followed by the procession in Nyeri town, on Sunday the 11th of June 2023 led by His Grace Most Rev Anthony Muheria the Archbishop Nyeri Archdiocese.
DIACONATE ORDIATION AT CHRIST THE KING MAJOR SEMINARY.
On 17th June 2023, His Grace Most Rev. Anthony Muheria presided over a Diaconate ordination of six seminarians from the Archdiocese of Nyeri. The event took place at the Christ the King Major Seminary.
In his homily, His Grace urged us to continue participating in the Eucharistic mass cerebration, for where there is Christ we will find our strength, and to the ordained Deacons to ask for strength from the holy spirit and walk in the steps of those who stood in their faith and in humbleness.

On Thursday 4th May 2023, His Grace Archbishop Anthony Muheria led a graduation ceremony at the Christ the King Major Seminary in the school of Spirituality studies, School of Philosophical and Religious Studies and the School of Theological Studies for 2022/2023 students. Congratulations to all the graduates for their hard work and dedication!
On Sunday 26th February 2023, His Grace Archbishop Muheria led in the Nyeri Archdiocesan Lenten Campaign that took place at the Holy Cross Church in Karemeno Parish in Gatarakwa Deanery.
The National Youth Mass 2023 was celebrated with fanfare and color as thousands of young Catholics from all over Kenya gathered at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology in Nyeri County.
The main celebrant of the mass was His Grace Archbishop Muheria, the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Nyeri.
