10th Anniversary Celebrations and Confirmation at St. Charles Lwanga Ngangarithi Catholic Parish
It was a joyful and grace-filled occasion as St. Charles Lwanga Ngangarithi Catholic Parish celebrated 10 years of faith and growth, while 86 candidates received the Sacrament of Confirmation.
The Holy Mass was presided over by our Archbishop Anthony Muheria.
In his homily, the Archbishop began by reminding the faithful that every Sunday, the Church gathers to celebrate the Resurrection of Christ, the foundation of Christian hope and life.
Reflecting on the Second Reading, he noted that although we were once separated from Christ, His mercy has now made us one with Him. As the parish celebrates its tenth anniversary, it is an opportunity to thank God for the growth of this community of faith and to reflect on how deeply its members are living their Christian calling.
The Archbishop challenged the faithful to examine whether they actively participate in the sacramental life of the Church or merely observe from a distance. He encouraged everyone to become more involved in the mission of the Church, recalling the Gospel message that “the harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few.”
Addressing the newly confirmed, he reminded them that they are now called to be soldiers of Christ, firm in faith, courageous in witness, and unafraid to defend and live the Gospel.
The Archbishop further reflected on the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which reveals God’s immense love for humanity. Christ gave everything for us, even accepting suffering and death out of love. In turn, Christians are called to love one another as Christ has loved us.
He encouraged the faithful to know and care for the people around them, noting that true love is expressed through the gift of our time, service, and concern for others.
The Archbishop concluded by challenging everyone to invest not only in material projects but also in the most important project of all—the salvation and growth of the soul.
“The greatest project in our lives is the one concerning our souls. Let us strive to grow in faith, love, and service as true disciples of Christ.”
God bless
