About the Parish

Our Lady of Fatima Mukurwe-ini Catholic Parish is a vibrant parish within the Mukurwe-ini Deanery of the Archdiocese of Nyeri. Established on 13 August 2008, the parish was created to bring pastoral care and the celebration of the Sacraments closer to the growing Catholic community.

The parish was carved out of Gikondi Catholic Parish and Kaheti Catholic Parish. The Local Churches of Ngoru, Githunguri, and Kagarii were formerly part of Kaheti Parish, while Gaciriro, Gakindu, and Gathukimundu belonged to Gikondi Parish.

Since its establishment, the parish has experienced steady spiritual growth through the celebration of the Sacraments, Christian formation, and active evangelization. Numerous baptisms, First Holy Communions, Confirmations, and Christian marriages have been celebrated, strengthening the faith of the parish community.

The parish has also become a source of vocations to the Church, having produced three priests and seven religious sisters who continue to serve God’s people in various ministries.

Today, Our Lady of Fatima Mukurwe-ini Catholic Parish continues to grow as a welcoming community of faith, committed to prayer, evangelization, and Christian witness.
